Weighing 100 pounds less than the M5 the BMW M6 coupe includes a carbon-fiber roof panel as a weight-saving measure for the 2008 model year. All out performance and four-seat capability makes it harder for competitors to match the M6. The reasonable price is also a good incentive for investing in this vehicle.

Powered by a 5.0-liter V-10 engine, the M6 produces up to 500 horsepower. The seven-speed sequential manual gearbox (SMG) offers manual or automatic operation. Using the iDrive control interface, the driver can set throttle and transmission settings. The M6 coupe reaches 0 to 60 mpg in only 4.6 seconds; while the heavier convertible is less quick by less than a second.

Externally, the 2008 BMW M6 is standard with 19-inch double-spoke wheels, side sill extensions and a rear diffuser. The M6 coupe has a carbon-fiber roof. Inside the M6 is adaptive xenon headlights, heated seats, Bluetooth, a 13-speaker Harmon Kardon Logic 7 audio system and dual-zone automatic climate control. Keyless ignition/entry, satellite radio and high-definition (HD) AM/FM radio are just some of the options for the interior.

Dynamic Stability Control, all-disk antilock brakes and side-impact airbags for front seat-seat occupants come standard for both the M6 convertible and the M6 coupe.
