2012 Mini Coupe

It looks as though 2012 will bring an even small addition to the MINI family. That’s right kids, the classic Mini Cooper hatchback, now owned by BMW, will have a tinier cousin – the 2012 MINI Coupe.

First introduced at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, online magazine World Car Fans caught glimpses of the Coupe testing in Europe. According to WCF: “With camouflage concentrated on the rear upper body area, we suspect MINI is trying to hide the taller dimensions of the greenhouse and steeper windshield compared to the concept. Otherwise, in JCW trim the Coupe looks identical to the Frankfurt concept – even down to the body kit, wheels and reverse baseball cap roof.” We also love the small spoiler on the back of the black model above.

It was rumored that these coupes would make their first official appearance at the recently passed 2011 Geneva Motor Show. But MINI wasn’t ready – and hopefully will be by 2012.
