BMW M1 Re-dubbed 135is at Geneva Auto Show
BMW fans have been awaiting the M1 – a small yet powerful coupe from the German auto maker. Well, at 2010′s Geneva Auto Show, M1 was officially shot down, but will probably be redone as 135is. The artist formally known as M1 will become part of the sDRIVe series, Bimmer’s attempt at a next generation of luxury sports coupes.
“If we do something, it’ll be a 135is like we’ve done with the Z4 and the 3 Series,” a source told Inside Line down at BMW’s stage during this year’s Geneva event. They also confirmed the M1 will indeed not happen as we’ve been told.
So this fall look for BMW to introduce a 135is powered by a more powerful version of the twin-turbo N54 inline six-cylinder and a more aggressively tuned suspension.
