BMW X5 Security Plus Armored SUV
As if being pulled over isn’t embarrassing enough, being pulled over by the new BMW Armored Security Vehicle may be even worse. The all new BMW X5 Armored SUV provides protection from AK-47 gunfire thanks to its “high-performance steel moldings and panels” – and can travel at a distance of 93 miles at speeds of up to 50 mph with deflated tires.
The crossover also features an intercom that allows occupants to remain safely in the vehicle while talking to individuals located outside. If a fast getaway is required, the driver can activate the audible and visual alarm system which warns fellow motorists to get out of the way.
Power is provided by BMW’s 4.8-liter V8 engine which produces 355 hp and 475 Nm of torque. The X5’s performance is seriously hampered by the additional weight of the armoring process as 0-100 km/h takes 8.2 seconds and the top speed is limited to 112 mph.
I like the car,good for most African countries like South Africa where car hijacking is common.However, its slower,it must be made a bit bigger to increase seat capacity to atleast 5.The amouring panels can be made lighter but stronger.I wish the security features can be extended to my dream car BMW X5 M .
