Take a quick ride outside of Philadelphia, in West Chester (aka Best Chester) PA and one can be your for around $2500.

That itself is worth the $2,493 asking price. The vehicle seems to be in almost-pristine condition outside and in the cockpit. Of course, who knows what lies under the hood or worse, under the chassis. This beaut also comes with leather seating, CD player, alloy wheels and power locks/windows. Hey, that was all considered high luxury in 1987.

Safety features and extras include:
* Driver Air Bag
* Anti-Lock Brakes
* Air Conditioning
* Alloy Wheels
* Cruise Control
* Passenger Air Bag
* Leather Seats
* Power Door Locks
* Power Mirrors
* Power Windows
* Power Steering
* Tinted Glass
We have to say, a BMW find such as this should not be passed up. Hell, we might head up to Best Chester this weekend and have a look ourselves.

BMW fans have been awaiting the M1 – a small yet powerful coupe from the German auto maker. Well, at 2010’s Geneva Auto Show, M1 was officially shot down, but will probably be redone as 135is. The artist formally known as M1 will become part of the sDRIVe series, Bimmer’s attempt at a next generation of luxury sports coupes.

“If we do something, it’ll be a 135is like we’ve done with the Z4 and the 3 Series,” a source told Inside Line down at BMW’s stage during this year’s Geneva event. They also confirmed the M1 will indeed not happen as we’ve been told.

So this fall look for BMW to introduce a 135is powered by a more powerful version of the twin-turbo N54 inline six-cylinder and a more aggressively tuned suspension.

The Motor Report has confirmed BMW’s 2012, 2013 Electric City Car. The “Megacity” vehicle, which is rendered above by TMR, is part of the German Auto make’s plan to introduce several electric vehicles over those two years. It is rumored BMW’s microcar will be part of their 1-Series.

According to reports, ” Development costs could be cut by sharing the small platform with the next-generation MINI range, stretching it for five-door models and providing a better basis for small roadster models. If built, the small new BMW could draw power from four and three-cylinder engines. One question is whether BMW would stick to its no-front-wheel-drive credo, or allow a lower entry price by offering a FWD model.”

Six months ago, several owners of the new Mini Cooper EV were asked to be monitored for their reactions to the new tiny electric vehicle. After real world testing reviews are in, and drivers are happy with the Mini E…Mostly. One of the biggest complaints about Mini E is “range anxiety” – as reported by World Car Fans: “Although a fully-charged MINI E can keep the car moving for 160 kilometers, a full recharge with the included high voltage cables takes between four and eight hours. If a MINI E owner is forced to plug the car into a standard 110-volt household outlet, recharge time takes up to 23 hours.”

MINI E driver Tom Moloughney told the Canadian newspaper, “Until there are plentiful public charging stations, there is an ‘electric leash’ that you must respect.” Because of this, Moloughney installed an extra charging station at work. “Being able to charge midday virtually doubles the range for me. I’ve driven as much as 280 km in a single day, which is more than just about anyone would need to do for a work day.”

“When people first drive the MINI E, they usually don’t like the regenerative braking,” said Dr. Thomas Turrentine. Dr. Turrentine is running the MINI E study for University of California Davis. Still, the report shows that “after a few hours they get used to [regenerative brakes], and after they have driven it for a week, they are very positive about it.”

Mini E hopefuls can look ahead to 2011, and maybe owning one of the few EV’s that will be available at first from the auto maker.

The BMW 1 Series Hatchback has been sneaking around test tracks in Germany, and we finally grabbed some spy shot. Well, actually our friends over at The Motor Report snagged initial shots of the BMW Hatchback riding around on a beautiful sunny day.

The prototype has been caught before, rummaging around the snow and ice of Europe. Today we finally get some non-camo photos of the vehicle, which looks like a X5 was hit with the ray-gun from Honey I Shrunk the Kids. Soon to be available in both three & five door models, BMW hopes the vehicle will be the next great step to a larger audience with their smaller ride.

Rumors suggest the next-gen BMW 1-Series will contain a turbocharged three and four-cylinder engine, both of which are also in a fresh development phase. There’s also grumblings of a twin-turbo four-cyl for a 1-Series Supersport. Great find by TMR!

When you have to explain the joke, it’s never funny. When you think a mannequin is going to kill itself, you should probably just give up all together. These clever billboards on I-95 for BMW of Bridgeport, out in Connect-i-cut, feature several fake-people (and one large teddybear) checking out their local BMW dealership. But not everyone passing by figured these were not real humans.

According to local rag newspaper Hartford Courant 911 dispatchers have received various phone calls from passer-bys and also local residents, claiming they saw a man about to jump off a billboard. 911 operators have been explaining these are not real people, but advertisements and the billboards have been up for some time.

According to source: Motor Authority: With 335 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque on tap, the smallish roadster packs plenty of punch. It even has some reserves, with an overboost function allowing brief stints at 369 pound-feet of torque under full load. The end result is a 60 mph sprint time of 4.7 seconds. Like all BMWs, the 2011 Z4 sDrive35is is electronically limited to 155 mph. Ultimately, though its performance is excellent, it’s not as hardcore as a true M model would be.

The Z4 sDrive35is’s rear wheels are driven by BMW’s seven-speed DCT dual-clutch transmission, while the full M Sport treatment is also standard equipment, including a more aggressive body kit, lower suspension setup and electronic shock absorbers.

The Future of BMW is upon us – and before it’s official release at the Detroit Motor Show we have your first look at the 2012 1-Series, now available in ActivE Concept. The ActivE Electric Vehicle Concept is more than just a fancy never-to-be-produced car show gimmick – 1-Series ActivE Concept contains a revolutionary electric drive system, which draws its energy from new, advanced lithium-ion battery packs developed by BMW and the co-operation partner SB LiMotive – specifically for the BMW Concept ActiveE.

Most “Hybrid” cars on the road today give its driver an average range of 40 – 45 miles per run. ActivE supplies 100 miles of everyday use to its occupants. Charging times required for this lithium-ion battery is very short: a European power grid can recharge a battery pack in just 3 hours at a wall box with a current of 50 ampere at 230/240 volts. In North America, the charge time is a little over 4 hours. BMW may have constructed the best example of zero-emissions driving to date.

Power is set at 170 HP with 184 lb-ft of torque, which is enough to get the battery-laden coupe up to 60 MPH in about 8.5 seconds. Built into the 1-Series platform, this is all meant to produce an electric car experience more in line with BMW’s expressed value as a driver’s machine.

Looking for something that takes you around those Jersey Shore sand dunes, thus avoiding the t-shirt shores and any “Situation?” Mini’s Beachcomber concept may be the ride for you. Yes, Mini has created a beach cruiser for possible production. It’s a smaller take on the Jeep Wrangler, with one of the oddest door designs we’ve ever seen. It’s a two regular doors on the passenger side, a sliding rear driver-side door, a side-hinged rear hatch, and a sliding roof.

The purpose of this design is to, according to Mini PR: “limit the intensity of the occupants’ encounter with their surrounding world.” Don’t worry, there are seatbelts. It’s the most ‘American” can Mini has had to date – regular sized tires and enough room for more then 2 people. You’ve come a long way, little Mini.

It looks as though interest in a new production model based on BMW’s M1 concept may return. Sources state BMW is working on an updated M1 Supercar Concept scheduled for an appearance at 10th Dubai International Motor Show December 15th. This is the first time BMW’s M1 will make any sort of public appearance since 2008.

The very first production BMW M1 “Supercar” was introduced in 1978, as a mid-engine car produced & built by Lamborghini. It used a 3.5-liter six-cylinder twin-cam engine that produced 273 horsepower, but turbocharged racing versions generated 850 hp – and had a max speed of 160 mph.

BMW is keeping quiet about the new M1 model, and only says the car is to celebrate the company’s heritage. “The BMW M1 was an utterly uncompromising super sports car which exuded passion,” said BMW Middle East exec Phil Horton. “Its forerunner, the BMW Turbo by Paul Bracq, displayed innovative technical solutions that found their expression in emotional design.”
