People in CT Think Someone Would Die for Their BMW

When you have to explain the joke, it’s never funny. When you think a mannequin is going to kill itself, you should probably just give up all together. These clever billboards on I-95 for BMW of Bridgeport, out in Connect-i-cut, feature several fake-people (and one large teddybear) checking out their local BMW dealership. But not everyone passing by figured these were not real humans.

According to local rag newspaper Hartford Courant 911 dispatchers have received various phone calls from passer-bys and also local residents, claiming they saw a man about to jump off a billboard. 911 operators have been explaining these are not real people, but advertisements and the billboards have been up for some time.

I really, really hope someone thought this guy with the #1 oversized foam finger was a suicide case. Is a BMW really worth dying for? In CT, maybe a Saab. Stay classy, New England.
