The German auto maker took this opportunity to introduce their next Z4 Convertible hard top. Along with it comes an extra Design Pure Balance package made specifically for the Z4 roadster.

Created as a follow up to the Pure Design Impulse, this “Balance” edition features Mineral White metallic paint that “leaves a brilliant impression in the true sense of the word.” There is a variety of other colors available along with this package – we recommend the glossy black finish.

Interior changes are minor, including Cohiba Brown leather sport seats, black leather dashboard and Fineline Anthracite wood trim. BMW’s Design Pure Balance package will launch this summer.

A secret BMW has been trying to keep under wraps until a Tweet by Automobile magazine dropped the ball – the next Z4 will come with a turbocharged four-cylinder base-model, replacing its previous 3.0 liter inline 6-cylinder.
The Twitter post reads:

BMW new 4-cyl coming this year in Z4 roadster. Replaces nat asp 6, so at least 200 hp

It’s been hinted for a while that BMW is developing a new turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline/petrol engine to fit into its lineup. Currently, BMW has no turbocharged 4-cylinder petrols in its power plant lineup and has historically favored naturally aspirated engines.

According to WCF: Other performance modifications include a stainless steel sport exhaust system (with chromed ‘racing’ tailpipes) and a revised suspension. To enhance the Z4′s good looks, Schnitzer added an aerodynamic body kit with a new front spoiler, a chrome grille, aggressive front fenders (with integrated air vents), and a two-piece rear spoiler. The styling can be further accented by a wide variety of custom AC Schnitzer wheels available in 18, 19 or 20 inches. Inside, the company adds an aluminum cover for the iDrive controller and an aluminum pedal set.
