Ti’s the season for Automotive shows, and the bi-annual Paris Auto Show is just around the corner. BMW is getting ready to show off the highly anticipated (and highly protected) X1 and new 7-Series concept models.

BMW 7-Series -

As one of the larger BMW models, the 7-Series has been a hit for years with those looking for a more spacious, luxurious-luxury vehicle. The German auto maker has been hinting about an all new design concept both inside and out for 2009 & 2010 7-Series vehicles. Recent spy photos (including the shot below) show that BMW is really focusing on keeping all concept models well under wraps. Maybe the automotive blogs and magazines should hire TMZ’s paparazzi photographers. This alleged 7 looks more like an extra from Death Race.

BMW X1 -

An artist’s rendition of the X1 is probably close to what we can expect in a real life model at Paris Auto Show 2008. More hatchback sedan than a traditional crossover, X1 continues the experience of powerful yet comfortable commuting with enough room for three kids and the dog.

With the recent success of X3 and the rise in global gas prices, both a diesel edition and more compact unleaded addition to the X-Series should help both domestic and foreign sales. Again, another highly covered spy shot gives us a hint of what BMW’s X1 will have to show off in Paris.

BMW is known for providing customers with exceptional vehicles that outperform the competition in whatever class in which they fall. The Z4 2-door sports car does just that. The Z4 comes as a coupe, roadster and the high-performance “M” versions of each of these.

Let’s start with what makes the Z4 tempting as a sports car—its power. The standard two inline-six-cylinder engine is 3.0 liters and can generate 215 horsepower. The 3.0si trim for the coupe and roadster gets the same engine, but it is charged up to produced 255 horsepower; the roadsters can use either one of these engines, but the coupe only uses the latter. These engines team with a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional six-speed automatic that has a clutchless-manual mode. The Z4 M gets a 3.2-liter variation of their counterparts’ engines, and it can turn out 330 horsepower. This supped up engine teams with a six-speed manual transmission and six separate throttles that are electronically controlled and that come with throttle control. It doesn’t matter which variation of the Z4 you chose; it will be a seamless ride in any condition.

The Z4 is known for its bold exterior dimensions that feature unique side sculpting and a longer wheelbase than other vehicles of the coupe and roadster class. The distinctive design distributes a generously spacious interior to the lucky occupants. The insides are graced with attractive leather upholstery, electronic analog instrumentation, automatic climate control and various other commodities. The safety inside the Z4 is rather widespread for this class of car. Along with the dual-stage frontal airbags, there are side-impact airbags and knee airbags. Adaptive brake lights increase their radiance when more intensive braking takes place; this warns drivers behind you and prevents rear end collisions. Other safety and security features include a tire pressure monitoring system, Dynamic Stability Control electronic stability system, a Service Interval Indicator and the list continues!

Whether you opt for coupe, roadster or the M version of of these, the Z4 can really hold its own on the road. Handling is tight, acceleration is smooth, inner-cabin comfort is optimum and you never feel in danger with all of the safety technologies surrounding you. So jump in, put the top down and enjoy the smooth transitions of this powerful compact road warrior. The 2008 Z4 models are waiting.
